Celebrity nail artist Mazz Hanna says lavender is one of those colors that looks as good as it makes people feel. "Just as the scent of lavender makes people feel relaxed and calm, seeing the hue on your nails has a similar effect," she explains. "I’m a huge fan of creamy, full-coverage polishes when it comes to lavenders (or any pastel for that matter). If the formula is sheer, it often looks unfinished. Some of my absolute favorites are Veque Ve Vernis in Fantome ($18) and Oribe Lavender Smoke ($32). Both formulas are super easy to apply because of their wide and flat brushes, and make it easy to give yourself a professional-looking manicure at home.”

"I’m currently on a nail inspiration trip in Japan, and I’ve noticed lavender nails are quite popular over here as well," Hanna adds. "Japanese nail salons and supply stores are offering clients a full spectrum of pale purples to choose from, and this doesn’t surprise me one bit."
